privacy policy.
Short version: dhun barely touches your data. No accounts, no ads, no tracking, no algorithm building a profile of you. You press play, the music plays — dhun on, duniya off. The long version is below, and it's all true.
dhun has no login, no sign-up and no user accounts. We don't ask for your name, email, phone number or any other personal identifying information, because there's nowhere to put it and no reason to. You can use the entire site without ever identifying yourself.
dhun runs no advertising and embeds no third-party analytics or tracking scripts. There are no marketing pixels, no fingerprinting and no ad networks watching what you listen to. Nobody is being sold here — least of all you.
dhun remembers things to make playback nicer — your volume, your theme, your recently played tracks, the last song you were on and where you paused it, and your autoplay and streaming-quality preferences. All of this is stored locally in your own browser's localStorage, on your own device, under keys namespaced with the dhun: prefix.
None of it is ever transmitted to or stored on dhun's servers. It never leaves your device. You can wipe it any time by clearing the site's data in your browser settings, and it'll all come back blank — like the first time you walked in.
dhun hosts no audio or media of its own. Song metadata, cover art and audio streams are fetched from an unofficial JioSaavn API. That content belongs to its respective owners, artists and labels. dhun is a listening interface, not a content library, and it is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by JioSaavn.
dhun has an optional Mac desktop app that can show your current track on your Discord status using Discord Rich Presence. This only happens if you choose to run that desktop app with Discord open. In that case the app shares the now-playing track title and artist with Discord so it can display it as your status — and nothing else. The website you're reading this on does not do this.
dhun is a personal, educational, non-commercial project. It collects no personal information and profits from nothing. If you have a question about any of this, reach out via rajkar.dev.
